Chris Battle

Chris BattleChris Battle is currently a partner and at Adfero Group, a public relations firm that integrates sophisticated digital strategies with traditional communication tactics. He leads the firm’s Homeland Security Practice and serves as the editor of Security Debrief, a blog dedicated to national and homeland security issues. After September 11, 2001, Battle worked as an adviser during the creation of the new US Department of Homeland Security. After the Department officially stood up in 2003, Battle was appointed Director of Public Affairs and later Chief of Staff for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Battle led public affairs campaigns promoting operations ranging from weapons and human smuggling, to financial crimes to national crackdowns on illegal immigration. Prior to his service at DHS, Battle was chief of congressional and public affairs at the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
